On 22 September 2021, a 30-year-old woman who was 22 weeks pregnant died at the County Hospital in Pszczyna. On admission, absence of amniotic fluid was diagnosed and an earlier diagnosis of congenital malformations of the foetus was confirmed. During hospitalisation, the foetus died. After less than 24 hours in hospital, the patient also died due to septic shock.

On 12 – 14 October 2023, Anna Miśtal-Kluś, attorney-at-law & partner of the legal office Budzowska Fiutowski & Partners. Attorneys-at-law, took part in the annual conference of lawyers’ network EUROJURIS INTERNATIONAL in Rome. The meeting was attended by more than 100 lawyers from all over Europe.
The victory was determined by the recognition of the Polish legal community, the firm’s position in international rankings as well as the opinions of experts, heads of corporate departments and capital markets specialists. Everything was overseen by the editorial chapter, which verified the submitted applications under the supervision of an external auditor.
On December 1, 2022, APIL held its annual conference on the subject of compensation for injuries sustained in accidents abroad. During said conference, a group of experienced speakers presented the latest reports in the field of cross-border and international personal injury claims.
The Young Lawyers Group of the Pan-European Organization of Personal Injury Lawyers (PEOPIL) held its conference in Madrid, Spain on March 22-24, 2022. The Young Lawyers Group (YLG) holds an annual conference that helps young lawyers to connect with foreign colleagues.

On 20 February 2019, the Court of Appeals in Warsaw issued a judgement in a case of perinatal hypoxia of a child. As a result of actions taken by the medical personnel of the defendant hospital, the minor claimant suffered particularly serious damage to health.
On 30 August 2018, the Court of Appeals in Warsaw issued a judgement in the case of the BFP law firms’ Clients concerning a road traffic accident as a result of which the plaintiffs’ husband and father have sustained fatal injuries.
On 2 August 2018, the Regional Court in Warsaw (I Civil Division) made a ruling in favour of the BFP law firms’ Client, under which she was awarded compensation and redress for a bowel injury sustained during a laparoscopic surgery for ovarian cyst removal.
On 27 July 2018, the District Court in Katowice (I Civil Division), passed a judgement under which the parents of a child who has tragically died in the mother’s womb as a result of medical negligence were awarded redress. During the course of these proceedings, the BFP law firm has acted for the plaintiffs – the parents.
The BFP law firm has represented two clients – the parents of a child who tragically died in the mother’s womb as a result of medical negligence – in successful settlement negotiations with the hospital’s insurer.
On 7 May 2018, the Regional Court in Tarnów passed a judgment under which the parents of an infant that died just a few weeks after being born were awarded bereavement damages.
The another case of our client who has sustained severe physical injuries has been now closed by reaching an appropriate settlement. In September 2012 our Client was a participant of a coach crash in France. As the result of index accident our Client has been severely injured – she sustained a multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS) i.e.:
On 6th of October 2016 the Regional Court in Kraków made a ruling in the case of the Client of the Budzowska Fiutowski and Partners. Legal Counsel. Our Client was injured in the train crash that took place in March 2012 near Szczekociny. It needs to be reminded that as the result of the accident 15 people have lost their lives and more than 50 have been injured. Although our Client has not sustained any severe physical injuries, she suffered from long-lasting Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
