On 6th of October 2016 the Regional Court in Kraków made a ruling in the case of the Client of the Budzowska Fiutowski and Partners. Legal Counsel. Our Client was injured in the train crash that took place in March 2012 near Szczekociny. It needs to be reminded that as the result of the accident 15 people have lost their lives and more than 50 have been injured. Although our Client has not sustained any severe physical injuries, she suffered from long-lasting Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. After taking into account the consequences for her psychological welfare, the judge decided that the amount of　 165.000,00 PLN with statutory interest for the duration of the court proceeding shall be considered as an adequate amount to satisfy our Client’s claim. It is worth to mention that in the pretrial proceeding the insurer has voluntarily offered the redress on the amount of 2.000,00 PLN.

The court proceeding in this case took year and a half.

The sentence is appealable.
