Atty. Jolanta Budzowska spoke at APIL Accidents Abroad Conference 2019
APIL’s fourth accidents abroad conference 2019 featured most recent developments on cross-border and international claims.
Its programme included topics such as “Brexit: what does it mean for personal injury claimants and practitioners?” and a panel discussion titled “Costs and funding in accidents abroad cases”, during which Atty. Jolanta Budzowska spoke about bringing personal injury actions in Poland.
Association of Personal Injury Lawyers is a not-for-profit organisation with more than 25 years of tradition, associating more than 3,800 member lawyers from different jurisdictions. Their latest conference took place in London, where a packed one-day programme saw leading and specialist practitioners bringing the participants up-to-date in latest developments on cross-border personal injury cases.
Facing Brexit, they wondered what options are there for injured claimants whose life center is in the UK, but the accident in which they suffered injuries, occurred in Poland. If they are not able to pursue their claim in the UK, what options do they have left, assuming the jurisdiction of Polish courts? During the panel discussion, Atty. Budzowska helped fellow members understand the reality of pursuing a personal injury claim in Poland.
Atty. Budzowska has been a member of APIL since 2014. The main objective of APIL members is the cooperation in the legal assistance rendered to the injured parties, including the assistance in multi-jurisdictional proceedings.
