Att. Benedykt Fiutowski participated in the Conference “The Judgment of the Court of Arbitration” that took place on 8 November 2013 at the Jagiellonian University.
The Conference was attended by prominent representatives of jurisprudence who deal with the problems of arbitration - including professor Andrzej Szumański, professor Jerzy Rajski, professor Józef Frąckowiak, professor Maksymilian Pazdan, professor Stanisław Sołtysiński, professor Tadeusz Ereciński and professor Karol Weitz – as well as practitioners, i.e. attorneys, legal counsels, the representatives of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and of the National Chamber of Commerce, engaged in the promotion of arbitration in Poland.
The guests focused in their speeches on the issues related to the content and the form of the judgment of the arbitration court, the binding character of the judgment of the arbitration court, the effectiveness of the judgment vis-à-vis third parties, as well as the refusal of recognizing or enforcing the judgment on the basis of public policy clause and the issue of setting aside the judgment of the court of arbitration due to the breach of the procedural public policy.
Att. Benedykt Fiutowski has been for a number of years engaged in popularising alternative dispute resolution. He has repeatedly acted as an arbitrator; he is an arbitrator of the permanent court of arbitration in Kraków; in 2013 he has been appointed by the Minister of Economy to serve as an expert in the Ministerial Team for Systemic Solutions in the Field of Alternative Resolution of Commercial Disputes.
