The first educational film of the BFP law firm for the deaf [07.2013]

The Deaf Sports Club RES-GEST in Rzeszów is carrying out the “Legal and Civic Aid Center for the Deaf” project, from the funds of the Polish – American Freedom Foundation, at disposal of the Institute of Public Affairs. As part of the abovementioned project, one of the educational films of the BFP law firm: „Medical malpractice – the aggrieved in court” has been translated into the sign language.

Michał Sikora and Karolina Kolary attended an annual young Eurojuris lawyers meeting in Venice from 14 to 17 of June. They had a chance to have an inside look on the benefits of best practices for improving the productivity and work/life balance, and on ten things to remember when preparing an international case. The lectures delivered by specialists such as Prof. Andrea Gattini from International Law at Padua University or Prof. Bruno Barel, Associate Professor of Law of the European Union at Padua University undoubtedly added splendour to the meeting.

Jolanta Budzowska was appointed as a member of the committee that rules on medical events in the Małopolska province [December 2011]

If you believe that in the course of medical treatment at the hospital the doctors made a wrong diagnosis, applied wrong medicine, therapy or they made another error during medical treatment, with a consequence of the injury or ill health, infections, or death, then the patient can address this committee to obtain compensation. Applications can only concern the wrong medical treatment (the so-called medical event), which took place after 1 January 2012. The applications may cover only hospital treatment.

Mr Benedykt Fiutowski participated in a research project concerning the issue of the European contract law [January 2012]

In January 2012 Mr. Benedykt Fiutowski participated in an interesting research project devoted to the issue of European contract law. The aim of the project was to consult the lawyers who are actively involved in conducting cross-border disputes, and thus, to obtain their opinion on the development of the European contract law and to verify the experience regarding the need to harmonize legislation in this field.

The campaign Women in Law [November 2011]

In the October newsletter we encouraged you to participate in charity auctions as a part of the campaign Women in Law. From the outset of the said campaign our law firm was actively involved in the latter, and Mrs. Jolanta Budzowska as one of the twelve women – partners of renowned Polish law firms – took part in a photo shoot for the calendar. The proceeds from the calendar sales and other items submitted for auction are intended to help the wards of the foundation Between Heaven and Earth, which organized photo exhibitions and auctions in Wrocław, Kraków and Warsaw.
