On 8 and 9 October 2018, the Polish Patent Office together with the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Society for Intellectual Property and Competition Law held a conference titled ‘Rethinking patent law as an incentive to innovation’.

The Deaf Sports Club RES-GEST in Rzeszów is carrying out the “Legal and Civic Aid Center for the Deaf” project, from the funds of the Polish – American Freedom Foundation, at disposal of the Institute of Public Affairs. As part of the abovementioned project, one of the educational films of the BFP law firm: „Medical malpractice – the aggrieved in court” has been translated into the sign language.

Michał Sikora and Karolina Kolary attended an annual young Eurojuris lawyers meeting in Venice from 14 to 17 of June. They had a chance to have an inside look on the benefits of best practices for improving the productivity and work/life balance, and on ten things to remember when preparing an international case. The lectures delivered by specialists such as Prof. Andrea Gattini from International Law at Padua University or Prof. Bruno Barel, Associate Professor of Law of the European Union at Padua University undoubtedly added splendour to the meeting.

Applications can only concern the wrong medical treatment (the so-called medical event), which took place after 1 January 2012. The applications may cover only hospital treatment.
